Avelia is a highly experienced professional trumpet player, having played in many West End shows (Jolson, Cats, Starlight Express, Calamity Jane to name but a few); orchestras; with stars such as Marti Webb, and Jane McDonald; a huge variety of bands including jazz, soul, funk, soca, function, and Latin. Avelia enjoyed a classical partnership with her pianist brother, Alvin Moisey – a particular highlight was giving the World Premiere of the Sonata for Trumpet & Piano by Ian Hughes at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in 2002.
