Worth a Million
The background to Worth a Million

This celebratory song was written as the show finale - including feather boas, sequins et al!

Being a parent involves constant work, decision-making, looking after etc., etc.  Parents should be “worth a million” but generally have less disposable income because of having their children.  The song talks about the 24/7 non-stop feeling but also recognises that actually we are priceless and our children are our jackpot.
Worth a Million - the lyrics

I should be worth a million
All the jobs that I do
I should be worth a million
God, do you feel that too?
Where is my recognition?
I’m in the shade
Full time contract
But never paid

Twenty-four seven and it never ends
Twenty-four seven going round the bend
Twenty-four seven and I’m just a slave
Where’s the life that I crave?

I could be worth a fortune
All the roles that I play
I could be worth a fortune
Do you hear what I say?
Where is my recognition? …

Twenty-four seven and it never ends …

Guess that I must be priceless
Only one in the shop
So we really are priceless
Now is our time to bop
I have the recognition
Not in the shade
Full time contract
And getting laid

Twenty-four seven and it never ends
Twenty-four seven now it’s time to spend
Twenty-four seven and the sun is hot
Give this life a new shot.

I know I won the jackpot
When I gave birth to you
Yes I did win the jackpot!
Oh if only you knew
How much you mean to me chile
You fill my heart
You are my world
My work of art

Twenty-four seven and it never ends.
